Looking for quick, healthy and sugar-free beverage ideas? I have just the recipes for you! I've created ideas and recipes to replace those overly sweet beverages we are all familiar with. It brings me back to summer days on the farm! Mom and I would take cold drinks to dad, who was planting crops or baling hay in the hot sun all day. He appreciated having those drinks ready whenever he needed quick hydration. Little did we know, all the sugar in those beverages were not helping our health or hydration. Those were the 60's and 70's when there was no thought of too much sugar. Our family loved them, but due to health issues, sugar-sweetened beverages were no longer a good option. For this reason, I created "Treat Your Health"!

If you are like me, when I see a great sale for my favorite varieties of tea, I snatch them up! Only issue is, now I have so many! I either need to have a big tea party or find a way to use more than one tea bag a day. I decided to combined two or three at a time. I found that "elderberry & echinacea" paired well with, "matcha green", "lemon, ginger & manuka honey". I then paired "chamomile, vanilla, & manuka honey" with "chamomile, anise, mint & turmeric", for my night time tea. The combination of these teas turned out to be very delicious! I also needed to use up my sasparilla black tea, which is shown below as the dark-colored tea. If you are looking for a quick and healthy root beer recipe, I use this tea to make the root beer featured in the "Beverage" section of "Treat Your Health".
A quick tip when making combination teas: use a glass quart jar, add 2-4 tea bags and 2-4 cups of hot water. Steep at least 15 minutes. For a zero sugar or "keto" friendly tea, sweeten with your choice of sugar substitute, to taste.
If lemonade is your beverage of choice, enjoy this zero sugar, keto friendly recipe:
Zero Sugar Lemonade
2 cups water
2 tablespoons pure lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon pure stevia, or to taste
Optional: Sprinkle of salt may enhance sweetness
Stir and chill or add ice, drink immediately
